Bras and cups size F from 85 to 120: a depth primarily offered by specialist brands, featuring redesigned straps and backs.
A gap of 23 centimetres between the bust and back defines the bra cup F, which is equivalent to a E in British or American sizing. At this depth, the selection is almost entirely concentrated among brands that have made plus size their specialty.
The rule is that the band at the back supports about 80% of the hold, while the straps take care of the remaining 20%. From the bra cup F onwards, this 20% can be enough to dig into the shoulder if the strap is narrow. Three details to check: a width of at least one and a half centimetres, a back anchor placed towards the centre of the back rather than on the shoulder blade, and an adjustment that stays put without slipping. A padded strap is not a luxury at this size.
The full cup style dominates, with versions featuring three or four piece cups. Minimiser bras exist and redistribute the volume towards the sides to create a slimmer look under a shirt. Non-wired styles are still possible with a few specialist brands. However, bandeau, push-up, and moulded cups made from a single piece are nearly absent from the offerings, as they struggle to hold at this depth.
